AIRALT Working Principle
The dirty air enters through the hopper inlet and due to the sudden speed drop and the first stage pulse filter, large particles fall into the dust collection box.
Fine and light particles pass through the unit up to the filter cartridges; as the dirty air passes through the cartridges (AIRALT) or bags (AIRALT/M) from the outside to the inside, the dust collects on the outer surface of the filters and the air passes through the filter as purified air.As the dust accumulates on the filters, periodic cleaning is required; backwash cleaning is accomplished by blowing compressed air through the filters with high frequency vibrations.Air blow cleaning is also known as "shock wave cleaning" which assists in the backwash cleaning process.
The cleaning sequence is carried out for each filter section by determining the stop and start period, managing the magnetic diaphragm valves with cycle timers or by measuring the pressure differences between the dirty and clean zones of the filters by installing a PLC on the control board. With this method, the efficiency of the filters is always maintained at the highest level. Thanks to this highly reliable cleaning method, after the first operating period, the filters operate with near-constant values in pressure loss throughout the operating period.
A differential pressure switch is mounted on the unit to monitor the clogging of the cartridges and the subsequent pneumatic cleaning cycle. Standard mounted cartridges or bags are made of polyester fibers conforming to the IFA/BGIA L-PES classification. The lower filtration speed of 0.056 m/s ensures high filtration efficiency (< 0.1 %) at an inlet dust density of 200 mg/m3 and particle size between 0.2 and 2 μm.
AIRALT and AIRALT/M filter equipment provide a maximum vacuum of 5000 mmH20/0.5 bar at the outlet. For larger vacuum or Atex versions (filter 22-21 dust / 2-1 gas positions) please contact our Technical Department. We recommend to protect the device from bad weather conditions in order to prolong its working life.
